About Bhavna Dixit

I have had the privilege of working with the SENS Research Foundation for the past eight years. It has been a rewarding and fulfilling experience to be a part of an organization dedicated to advancing the field of regenerative medicine and longevity research. I am Research Associate II in the MitoSENS program at SENS Research Foundation, where I work on the allotopic expression of mitochondrial genes, a novel gene therapy approach to treat mitochondrial and age-related diseases. During my master’s in biotechnology at Amity University, India, I gained a solid foundation in various biotechnological techniques and research methodologies. During my graduate research experience at the National Research Center in Plant Biotechnology, India, I had the opportunity to work on gene silencing and transcriptional analysis of pathogenicity genes in wheat leaf rust fungus. Working under the guidance of Dr. Boominathan provided me with a comprehensive understanding of mitochondria and their role in disease progression. My goal is to contribute to finding cures for these diseases and improve human health and longevity. Looking ahead, I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to the mission of SENS Research Foundation for the betterment of human health and make a meaningful impact.
