Organization Description

The Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) is a project funded by the National Institutes for Health (NIH) with the aim of producing transformative technologies with widespread benefits that cannot be produced through ordinary research institutions or biotechnology companies. It has four main focuses: expanding technical possibilities, creating scalable solutions, preventative health, and creating integrated healthcare systems. Its current director is Renee Diane Wegrzyn, who is a former project manager of DARPA and is the former vice president of Gingko Bioworks, which genetically engineers bacteria for industrial application.
