About Oki, Ph.D.

Dr. O'Connor was awarded his Master's degree at Northwestern Medical in 1999 for his work studying behavioral neuroscience in aged rodents. In 2005, at Baylor College of Medicine he received a PhD in Biochemistry for his work on proteins that regulate human telomeres. Postdoctoral research includes work at UC Berkeley on muscle stem cells and aging. Dr. O'Connor was a researcher and administrator at the SENS Research Foundation from 2010 through 2019 where he headed up the MitoSENS team from until 2016 when he took over oversight of SRF research as VP of Research with oversight over all intramural and extramural research. In 2019 he spun out a company, Cyclarity Therapeutics, to develop a drug targeting small toxic biomolecules that accumulate with age. CyclarityTx is located at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging.
