About Michael Snyder, Ph.D.

Michael Snyder is the director of the Center of Genomics and Personalized Medicine at Stanford University. He received his Ph.D. training at the California Institute of Technology and postdoctoral training at Stanford University. His laboratory was the first to perform large-scale functional genomics in an organism, and it has developed many genomics and proteomics technologies in order to characterize genomes, proteomes, and regulatory networks. His lab has discovered quite a bit about the transcription and regulation of the human genome, including information about inter- and intraspecies transcription factor binding. He has co-founded multiple biotech companies, including Affomix, Excelix, Personalis, and Protometrix, and he currently serves on the board of multiple companies.
