Internal Research

The LRI Research Center is our internal research laboratory, and the core of our intramural research efforts. In our lab, researchers undertake proof-of-concept research in rejuvenation biotechnologies, seeking to comprehensively address the disabilities and diseases of aging by repairing the damage done by the aging process at the molecular level.

Boominathan Lab

Dr. Amutha Boominathan’s lab focuses on understanding mitochondrial biology, developing gene therapies to address mitochondrial dysfunction, and advancing treatments for diseases linked to mitochondrial DNA mutations and aging.

Sharma Lab

Dr. Amit Sharma’s lab investigates how aging and cellular senescence affect the immune system, with a particular emphasis on developing strategies to harness immune mechanisms for targeting and clearing senescent cells.

Research breakthroughs into the core mechanisms of aging are critical to extending healthy human lifespan and building momentum for the field in general, and you can make a key difference. Join us in driving progress toward longer, healthier lives.
