National University of Singapore – Alpha-ketoglutarate

The National University of Singapore is conducting a human clinical trial of the effects of alpha-ketoglutarate on people aged 45 to 65, testing biomarkers of aging such as epigenetic clocks, pulse wave velocity, and inflammation.

Alpha-ketoglutarate (AKG) is a natural part of the Krebs cycle, a key part of metabolism, and is commonly used in sports medicine to enhance performance. It has been shown in previous studies to enhance lifespan in worm and mouse models of aging.
