Organization Description

The Alliance for Longevity Initiatives (A4LI) was founded with the goal of creating social and political action around the issues of combating age-related chronic conditions and increasing our number of healthy, disease-free years. The A4LI is a 501(c)(4) non-profit political advocacy organization, focusing on encouraging policymakers and the public to focus on policy that will help increase healthy human lifespan.

The aging and rejuvenation research field has long needed a political voice so that faster progress can be made in this important area of science. If policymakers can be engaged, educated, and encouraged to support longer healthier lives thanks to science, this technology could reach us all sooner. Having a political bipartisan voice in the US is an important piece of the puzzle and one step closer to building a strong advocacy community.

Its current initiatives include the establishment of a Longevity Caucus in Congress, the creation of economic measures that promote increasing healthy lifespan, increasing the funding of the NIA’s Division of Aging Biology, focusing ARPA-H on next-generation medical technologies, creating an approval path within the FDA for longevity medicines, and other measures to encourage foundational drug discovery.

Mission Statement

The Alliance for Longevity Initiatives (A4LI) proudly stands as the inaugural 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization specifically created to ignite social and political action focused on mitigating age-related diseases and fostering an increase in our healthy, active years. Visionary founder Dylan Livingston, leveraging his rich background as a grassroots political organizer, launched A4LI in 2022 in response to the burgeoning call for legislative advocacy within the rapidly evolving longevity sector.

A4LI’s inception comes at a pivotal moment when breakthroughs in science and surges in funding have primed the industry for transformation. With an eye on the future, we endeavor to align with healthcare pioneers and thought leaders within the realms of geroscience and policy-making. Our mission is to ensure that the initiatives we advance are strategic and impactful, designed to realize A4LI’s commitment to extending the healthspan of society.
