Nick's goal is to keep people as healthy as possible for as long as possible. To accomplish this, he studies the biology of aging, as this is the root cause of the majority of deaths worldwide. He hopes to develop therapies to treat these root causes and prevent diseases like cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer's, stroke, and diabetes. In this regard, his main areas of focus have been cellular senescence, how young circulating factors rejuvenate aged tissues, and characterizing organism-wide aging with scRNA-seq.
