Maria Blasco at Ending Age-Related Diseases 2019

We’re continuing to release talks from Ending Age-Related Diseases 2019, our highly successful two-day conference that featured talks from leading researchers and investors, bringing them together to discuss the future of aging and rejuvenation biotechnology.

Today’s talk is from Dr. Maria Blasco, the head of the Spanish National Cancer Research Center. She talked about telomeres and telomerase, comparing the rates of telomere decay in species and showing how shortened telomeres lead to dysfunction and disease while showing that introducing telomerase into cells can potentially delay age-related diseases.
