Share

We are pleased to announce a special event in San Francisco on Friday, February 2, 2018, 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM PST the opportunity to meet Dr. Aubrey de Grey from the SENS Foundation who will also be attending. This is a special screening of Altered Carbon, a new science fiction series coming to Netflix and based on the superb book by Richard Morgan.

In 2002, Richard Morgan burst on to the science fiction scene with a riveting novel Altered Carbon, about a future where every human baby is inserted with backup hard drive in the spine as a “backup” of their brain, capable of being re-inserted into fresh bodies upon the birth body’s demise. The story, set in San Francisco, is now a Netflix series showcasing the dark and dangerous world of Takeshi Kovachs where nobody lives forever, but for those wealthy enough, they can re-upload their digitized selfs from clone to another forever.

All proceeds of the ticket sales will go to the 501(3) c nonprofit Lifespan Extension Advocacy Foundation, an organization that offers grants to scientists who are making real-life efforts to expand human lifespan and slow the ravages of human aging.

Longevity researcher & TED Fellow Dr. Aubrey De Grey will be in attendance and offer some remarks on the current state of longevity research here in the real world, before we partake of the fictional one.
